The Foiling Press – August 2026 Recap – Summer’s winding to an end, and we’re looking forward to Fall! Not just because we’d love a break from the heat, but because Fall brings the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, which is typically a very productive event for us. We’re also hosting an event prior to the show up in North Florida on October 9th-10th as well, so be sure to read on for all of that info!
On the production side, we’ve got three 35IFC’s progressing through production, and some exciting changes are beginning to take place around the shop. Our Australia-bound build is nearing completion, and the two subsequent builds are moving along nicely. As we mentioned in a teaser email a few weeks back, the first pieces of our new production tooling are starting to arrive! The 35IFC is getting major updates, including a newly designed console, helm, forward lounger (coffin box), hard top, leaning post, and rear cooler seat (pics to follow).
There’s a lot happening behind the scenes, so let’s jump into this month’s updates!
Hull #30: Australian Commercial Certification & Final Assembly
Hull 30 continues to be one of the most unique 35IFCs we’ve built to date. After extensive collaboration between our team and the Australian surveyors involved with the project, we’re excited to share that this build now meets the requirements for the Australian Class 2C commercial category.
On the production side, we’ve completed all hull rigging, and the boat is ready for liner installation on Monday. The major components are coming together quickly:
- The liner is completely pre-rigged and ready for installation.
- The cap is also pre-rigged and will be installed following the liner.
- The hardtop and console are currently being rigged.
- The leaning post is fully rigged and ready for installation.
- The coffin box is rigged and ready to go into the boat.
Once the liner and cap are bonded in, this build is going to start looking like a finished boat very quickly. It’s been an exciting process adapting the 35IFC platform for commercial operation on the other side of the world, and we’re looking forward to watching this one continue to come together.
Hull #31: Structural Work Complete
Hull 31 made some huge strides this month. The hull has been infused, and all of the bulkheads and stringers have been bonded in. It’s now released from the mold and her sky blue hull looks great! This will be their second Sky Blue Insetta 35IFC, while they loved their first, they were ready to go all-out on a new build! The amount of customers coming back for their second boats has been incredible, with strong resale value and the newly updated molds (more info on that below), folks have been excited to upgrade to the latest and greatest version of the 35IFC!
The cap has also been infused, with the livewells and anchor locker already bonded in, and is scheduled to be released Monday.
Meanwhile, dry stacking of the liner is complete, with infusion scheduled next. This particular liner features an upgraded laminate schedule and core structure to accommodate a Seakeeper gyro.
Throughout the rest of the build, numerous smaller components—including hatches, fish boxes, and compartments—have also been completed and are ready for bonding. With most of the fiberglass work wrapping up, Hull 31 will soon begin transitioning from individual components into a complete boat.
Hull #32: Production Moving Forward
Hull 32 is continuing through the early stages of production. All bulkheads and stringers are complete, while numerous small parts move through different stages of manufacturing.
The next major component is already on the schedule, with the cap set to be gelled and skinned Tuesday. As the larger components begin entering production, we’ll start seeing this build take shape quickly over the coming weeks.
We mentioned our investment in new interior molds earlier this summer, and now we’re beginning to see the results. The first piece of our new production tooling arrives this week, starting with a new one-piece console and coffin box mold.
Additional tooling is currently in various stages of completion, and we’re expecting new molds to begin arriving nearly every week moving forward. The current rollout includes: One-piece Console & Coffin Box → Hardtop → Console Liner → Leaning Post → Associated Small Parts
These new molds represent a significant investment in the future of the 35IFC. These aren’t only aesthetic and functional upgrades; they’ll also help us improve production efficiency as we refine the boat and our manufacturing process. We’re excited to start putting the new tooling to work and will share plenty of behind-the-scenes content as the first components come out of the molds.
Summer may be winding down, but boating season certainly isn’t. From long-range offshore trips to family fun weekends on the water, we love seeing where owners are taking their Insettas.
Hull #28 crushed the yellowtail out of Anna Maria Island, Hull #25 put tons of awesome customers on fish out of Ponce Inlet, and Hull #26 ran their boat from Jacksonville to Silver Glen Springs and also put some solid Bull Reds on the boat while taking some kids out fishing!
